From the Vine, my wine column for the Santa Maria Times and Lompoc Record, was published today, Jan. 29th. You can read my article about Adventures in Wine Country by clicking on this free link:
There’s everything from a walking tour of five wine and beer tasting rooms in Solvang*, an illuminating class and tasting focused on Syrah at Zaca Mesa, where they were the pioneers who first planted Syrah vines in Santa Barbara County, and free concerts at Vina Robles tasting room in Paso Robles. Be sure to check out Vina Roble’s calendar of star-studded concerts coming up for the year. Last year, I felt so fortunate for my first chance to be able to hear Tony Bennett sing live at the amphitheatre.
*Correction: In the print edition of the Santa Maria Times and the Lompoc Record, I made an error by saying the Third Wednesday tastings at five wine/beer tasting rooms was only once a year. In fact this correction is good news. This event takes place on the third Wednesday of the month all year long, and it takes place from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thanks to Stiletto Marketing, their PR company, for informing me of the error so I could correct it online.
Although I listed some of the adventures that were appealing for most followers, there are many more good times you can find on the Vintners’ calendars for the year.
We’ll see you in in our future adventures in wine country!
