From the Vine, my wine column in the Santa Maria Times, covers International Women’s Day in Wine Country!
My bi-weekly wine column, which appears in the Santa Maria Times and the Lompoc Record, often features current events going on in wine country. That’s because I constantly see most of my fellow wine aficionados at all of our great wine events and festivals. Now the International Women’s Day celebration has led to a new annual dinner party in Solvang. It’s a celebration for our very talented women who make wine or own wineries. I must say it’s well deserved, right on ladies!
What’s more fun than sitting with your favorite winemakers at a dinner party where they are sharing their fine wines with you! It’s a very personal celebration offering an opportunity you’ll never, ever get in snobby Napa Valley (of course they aren’t the only snobby wine region in the world!). And it provides a better chance to get to know someone you admire so much, while tasting their wines with the maker.
