My From the Vine column in the Santa Maria Times on the Mushroom Festival!
I provide some important information about Bedford Winery’s 10th Annual Mushroom Festival, where you’ll learn much more about fungi by joining the fun with winemaker Stephan Bedford at Bedford Winery & Tasting Room in Los Alamos. My job here is helping you find such experiences. In fact, it sounds so good because not only do you learn all about wild mushrooms, like how to prepare them and pair them with fine wines, you get to taste the delicious morsels being prepared by Bedford and his culinary team.
While you’re there you’ll be tasting the current releases of white and red wines by Bedford which includes: Chenin Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Cabernet Franc. While I lean to red wine with mushrooms, and usually love them sauteed and served with a great steak. But I’m sure Bedford will open our eyes to other pairings that are complementary and delicious.
